No points for Aston Martin F1, unsurprisingly, in Austin.
The AMR24 has never been on the racing pace of the Haas F1 and the RB F1, which does not make it easy to enter the top 10 despite qualifying in Q3 on Saturday.
It was 13th place at the finish for Fernando Alonso.
“It was a tough race for us today and we lost a few places from our starting position. I think we outperformed the car’s natural position in qualifying and we knew it would be a tough battle to stay in the top 10. It was a tough weekend and we have a lot to analyze over the next few days to improve for Mexico.”
15e, Lance Stroll admet que “We lacked pace compared to the other cars today. I had a bit of trouble restarting after a collision with another F1 car at turn 10, but I think even without that collision the result would have been the same “The car didn’t have the performance to fight for good positions. We still have work to do to improve this car and we will give everything to achieve it.”
Mike Krack, team director, takes stock: “A very difficult day of racing. It’s really disappointing to come away from the weekend without any points.”
“The mid-pack is incredibly tight and we were on the wrong side of the competition. We just didn’t have any pace all weekend. We need to learn from days like this, try harder and put in place actions for next weekend in Mexico.”
