At the top of the bill, we find Cristiano Ronaldo with a total income of 295 million dollars (around 263 million euros). The American media estimates that the Portuguese earns 220 million in salary on the field compared to 65 million off it.
“CR7” is followed by Lionel Messi. The Argentinian is the only one in the top 10 to earn more money through sponsorship deals ($75 million) rather than through his club ($60 million).
Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappé in the top 5
The highest paid French footballer in 2024 is none other than Karim Benzema. The 2022 Ballon d’Or earns $100 million in salary per year, compared to $4 in sponsorship. The total therefore stands at 104 million. It is thus ranked at 4e rank, between Neymar and… Kylian Mbappé.
Although currently at the heart of the turmoil, the Bondynois is among the biggest football fortunes of the year. In total, he will have won 90 million dollars (70 in salaries and 20 in sponsorship).
