On Saturday, the inauguration of new equipment took place on the site of the Courts du Bois intercommunal Tennis center. “It’s an Urban tennis court. It allows you to practice an activity that is similar to tennis but is played on a court measuring six meters by twelve with rackets smaller than usual tennis and foam balls.explains Olivier Bothorel, vice-president of the Brittany Tennis League. This is equipment that the tennis federation has delivered to the league and which is made available to the clubs. The concept would be that we could install this type of equipment almost anywhere within the city in order to have free access and thus respond to the slogan: Tennis everywhere and for everyone. » The installation of the new equipment was carried out on Thursday October 10.
A fresco created by graffiti artist Yann Guichard adorns the floor of the new equipment. Intercommunal tennis center houses the Bois Orcan tennis club. The club, which has 450 members, also adheres to the “tennis at school” system set up by the community of municipalities. It thus welcomes children from thirteen schools in the Châteaugiron region for introductory sessions throughout the year.
