This is one of the biggest flaws reported by all users of the Samsung Galaxy Ring: the fact that the size of the ring does not correspond to all body types. It is certainly possible to request a test kit from Samsung in order to try all the sizes and thus choose the most suitable one. But finding the right size can be a problem, especially since it later means that it will be impossible to change fingers for your Galaxy Ring. A new patent filed by Xiaomi seems to have found a solution to this problem.

A one-size-fits-all ring, adaptable to all body shapes

Xiaomi’s patent thus addresses the question of the size of the connected ring, in particular by integrating an elastic component (PVC or rubbery material) which would thus guarantee that the ring always adapts perfectly to the user’s finger. In other words, this technology would make it possible to change fingers without having to worry about dropping them after a certain time: it would adapt to all sizes and thus allow users to gain weight or see their fingers swell ( in case of heat in particular) to continue to use their ring.

The patent in question has been filed with the CNIPA (Chinese Intellectual Property Administration) and also shows that this new ring is Bluetooth compatible, but also Wi-Fi and mobile networks (2G, 3G, 4G LTE, 5G ). Note also that, if this new type of ring adaptable to each finger necessarily promises to be beneficial to users, it will also be a simple way for Xiaomi to reduce production costs: in fact, there will be no need for produce only one type of ring, with one size.
