Pro D2 – resists, Provence reassures itself… Our predictions for the 7th day
Pro D2 – Dax resists, Provence Rugby reassures itself… Our predictions for the 7th day

The seventh day of Pro D2 is being played this week on the lawns of . After the clash between Provence and Brive, several matches risk being canceled: here are our predictions.

Provence Rugby – Brive

It’s the shock of the day, between two teams who will clearly fight for the title this season. Brive, leader of the championship, travels to the pitch of Provence Rugby, last semi-finalist of Pro D2. Carried by an irresistible pack and strong individualsthe Coujoux are in a strong position before this duel, especially since their opponents on Thursday have not had an easy start to the season. But Mauricio Reggiardo’s men have always been able to get by at home and the Brivists will have to make some changes to their team. At the end of an extremely tense match, we gave victory to the locals.

Our prediction: victory for Provence Rugby, defensive bonus for Brive

– Soyaux-Angoulême

The start of the season at Soyaux-Angoulême is paradoxical. Unable to win in their lair of Chanzy, Alexandre Ruiz’s men performed flawlessly away at the start of the season. A real feat. However, victory promises to be difficult to obtain on the always very tricky pitch of Colomiers. Fourth in the ranking, the Haut-Garonnais are eyeing the very first places and hope to win for that. Here again, a big fight is expected.

Our prediction: victory for Colomiers

Béziers –

This is an interesting duel, between two contenders for the final phase of Pro D2. Béziers and Grenoble face off in a duel that smells like gunpowder. Currently, both teams are in the top 6 and could score a big blow by winning. The Biterrois are coming off two frustrating away defeats and will want to redeem themselves in front of their home crowd. Grenoble, for its part, was confident against VRDR but experienced some difficulties during the game. The ASBH seems to be more in a hurry for a result.

Our prediction: victory for Béziers

Aurillac was not paid after his good match on the pitch. Yet disciplined in their game plan, the Cantalous broke down in particular against the power of the opposing pack. Fortunately, they have an opportunity to redeem themselves at home, against Nice. The promoted Nice player has already achieved an away feat this season by winning in but still seems to have difficulty, especially at the end of the games. On a pitch as difficult as Jean-Alric’s, we imagine the locals winning by a wide margin.

Our prediction: Aurillac victory with the offensive bonus

Mont-de-Marsan –

At the start of the season, we imagined Mont-de-Marsan and Nevers fighting a tough battle for the top 6, as was the case in recent years. However, both teams experienced a delay in ignition each losing two of their home matches. It is therefore in a certain vagueness that Montois and Neversois find themselves in the Landes. But after its convincing successes at Soyaux-Angoulême and against Brive, the Landais seem to be reassured, while Nevers is still struggling, despite the victory against Béziers. The Nivernais have never won away this season…

Our prediction: victory for Mont-de-Marsan

After a great start to the season, the Dacquois had in mind to achieve the same feat as last season, where they achieved the feat of qualifying for the final phase while being promoted. But the three initial successes were followed by… three defeats in the last three matches. Without merit, the Landais were unable to resist against Agen last week and absolutely must react. For Oyonnax, the objective during this match will be to achieve their first away victory of the season. Winners without convincing Colomiers last week, Joe El Abd’s men do not seem as sovereign as that at the start of the season.

Our prediction: victory for Dax, defensive bonus for Oyonnax

Romans – Montauban

The VRDR is last but this does not necessarily reflect a cataclysm among the Drômois. Certainly, their start to the season was not successful but they have never exploded in flight during a meeting. Very often eye-catching, Fabien Fortassin’s men are unable to reward themselves but that could come against Montauban. Certainly, this match looks like a clash of extremes but the Montalbanais, second in the ranking, will also have to preserve certain executives, who have given a lot recently.

Our prediction: victory for Valence Romans, defensive bonus for Montauban

– Agen

The BO has had a great start to the season, everyone agrees on that. However, the defeat in Brive left its mark. Mental, firstly, because the Basques were unable to hold their own against the Coujoux. Physical, too, since it is with an astronomical number of injured that Teddy Bourahoua’s men have returned home. Enough to surely disturb them for the closing match of this seventh day, against Agen. But the Agenais are not showing an exceptional face at the start of the season and it will be difficult to impose the law on Aguilera.

Our prediction: victory for Biarritz
