This time, he participated in the Pau victory against Castres (33-26).

Hugo Auradou played 69 minutes well despite several errors at the start of the match. The touch, of which he was one of the main players, was also very efficient. The Palois also distinguished himself with eight tackles but received a yellow card for an illegal entry into a maul. The son of David Auradou (41 caps from 1999 to 2004) received a standing ovation when he left the field. The Béarnais public having notably chanted “Hugo, Hugo”.

Last week in Perpignan, the young player made his return to the championship pitches, to total indifference. “Since his return to the club (September 9, Editor’s note), I have the feeling that the pattern remains coherent and calm. There were several stages. There was a stage where he was far from us. Afterwards, there was a stage where he arrived. There was a stage where he trained individually. He then trained collectively. Then, there was a new stage where he participated in the preparation of the team, which performed without him. And there, it is the almost final step, sportingly, to put it on the field. I felt, in each of the phases, there too, serene and rather happy to play rugby”explained in particular his trainer, Sébastien Piqueronnies.

As a reminder, Hugo Auradou and Oscar Jégou (La Rochelle) are still indicted for “aggravated gang rape” by the Argentine justice system. A hearing on October 18 will take place to study the request for dismissal filed by the players’ defense.
