Presse Océan: “What is your feeling about seeing the women’s section of FC Nantes evolve at La Beaujoire?
Waldemar Kita: “It is a great satisfaction and particularly in relation to the enormous, serious, very organized work which was done by the two elders (Jacky Soulard, the president of the women’s section and Michel Valin, the secretary, editor’s note). Personally, it makes me happy. I want to say, it would be nice to do this almost every weekend but we know very well that it is economically impossible. »
Almost 17,000 people were present at the stadium, what does that inspire you?
“Simply that I was right when, ten years ago, I started the women’s section. It wasn’t easy at all, we had everyone against us. Same for boys, but that’s normal. At a certain point, we must not forget that today women take an important place in economic, sporting or political life, and also in football, which is very good. We can see very clearly that people are coming, this shows that everyone likes it. But it’s the results that count. Today FC Nantes is in the Premier League. We have to go much further, improve. There’s a lot to do, it’s only our first year in the top flight. »

“A lot of work has been done but being in the Premier League is not an end goal, we have to see a lot more…
