Transfers Top 14: Colombe to Toulouse, Barlot to UBB and Papali’i extends to Castres – Quinze Ovalie

Yesterday was marked by several important movements on the transfer market in the Top 14with changes that promise to reshuffle the cards for the next season.

Georges-Henri Colombe chooses Stade Toulousain

The Stadium hit hard by recruiting Georges-Henri Colombe. The international law pillar (26 years old) will leave at the end of the season to sign up with the reigning French champion.

At 1.93 m and 142 kg, Colombe is considered one of the best in his position. If his future initially seemed mapped out in La Rochelle, where he felt good, Toulouse was able to seize the opportunity, particularly because of the uncertainty around Nepo Lalalahurt.

Gaëtan Barlot on his way to -Bègles

After shining under the jersey of Olympic, Gaëtan Barlot decided to join the Bordeaux-Bègles Union (UBB).

At the end of his contract, the 26-year-old hooker, pillar of the Castres pack, chose to make a new start with Bordeaux, an ambitious team looking for top-notch reinforcements. This transfer could prove crucial for UBB, which seeks to assert itself among the best teams in the championship.

Abraham Papali’i extends the adventure in Castres

On the side of Castresit was an extension that caught the attention. Abraham Papali’ithe powerful New Zealand flanker, has extended his contract with the club until 2027.

Arriving in 2023, he has established himself as an essential part of the team, stringing together high-level performances. Its extension is excellent news for Castres Olympicwhich thus retains one of its best players for the seasons to come.

Three movements for three clubs which intend to strengthen themselves and remain in the race for titles, with recruitments which promise to liven up the next seasons of the Top 14.

I grew up in a family where rugby was at all times. I was at the edge of the pitch when Castres beat and joined the elite, I was in the Stade Pierre Antoine facing Gary Whetton when he did his Haka to celebrate the 1993 Brennus and I was always rocked legends of this sport. Now, it is with XV Ovalie that I intend to extend the adventure. #TeamCO
