Injured in the knee during the preparatory matches, the Finn received a big ovation while he was very close to the bench.

“My crutches were shaking a little, I won’t lie to you,” Laine confided in a fleeting post on Instagram, relayed by the X account @HabsOnReddit. “Hopefully no one noticed!”

Laine was very proud of the performance of his teammates, who defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs by a score of 1-0. However, he was disappointed not to be able to participate in the celebration.

“I’m a little disappointed not to have been able to participate in the game, but with all the love I received from the fans and from all of Montreal, it made it all a little easier to digest.”

The 26-year-old forward will be out for two to three months after suffering a knee injury during a preseason game.
