Legend says stop: Rafael Nadal will end his career

Rafael Nadal announced on social networks that he was ending his career. He will hang up in November, after one last Davis Cup match.

Rafael Nadal will not go any further. The 38-year-old Spaniard has just announced, in a video posted on social networks, that he is ending his career.

“Thank you all”he writes in the caption of a touching video. “I believe it is the right time to end my career”he said in a long video. “I am very excited that my last tournament will be the Davis Cup and that I will be able to represent my country there.”

The Spaniard, winner of 22 Grand Slam titles, is considered one of the greatest legends of world tennis. He is notably the most successful player in the history of Roland-Garros, a tournament which he has won 14 times.

In singles, Rafael Nadal has 92 titles. To this must be added 11 double titles. He also won Olympic gold, in both singles and doubles. Known for his immense talent, especially on clay, the Spaniard is also known as the greatest rival of Roger Federer, who retired in 2022 with a final match played… alongside Nadal, his great friend.

Undermined by injuries, Rafael Nadal has decided not to go any further and will put his racket away for good in November, after his last Davis Cup match.
