Defeated by a small point on the Clermont pitch (19-18), the Toulonnais quickly expressed their incomprehension about some refereeing decisions. A behavior which logically got people talking.
The images quickly made the rounds on social networks. At the final whistle, Pierre Mignoni directly wanted to explain himself to Adrien Marbot, the Clermont – Toulon referee. The RCT manager even had to be retained by Dany Priso.
This Monday, Mathieu Raynal and Romain Poite – at the head of the “high performance cell” of French whistles – reacted via a press release. In the Third Half, our journalists returned for a few minutes to the Var reactions.
“It was a sketch”
At the microphone of Canal +, Dany Priso also declared: “ What happened? I think it’s pretty clear… It was a spectacle tonight. A sketch. We are refereed… I don’t even know what to say… It’s heartbreaking because we dominate the whole match and we don’t get rewarded. We got screwed, but that’s how it is, that’s sport. We will work and we will come back stronger. There is disappointment, frustration, there is a bit of everything. We do the right thing and we don’t get rewarded. There are decisions that I cannot understand. It’s our fault, we’re not going to say it’s the referee’s fault. It’s our fault. We’re going to work. That’s how it is.”
