Sylvie Vartan: at 80 years old, her surprising appearance on stage, even her granddaughter can't believe it

Sylvie Vartan, despite her 80 years, is still as impressive on stage. Johnny Hallyday's former wife was indeed performing this weekend in front of his family. Her granddaughter Emma Smet shared a video of her grandmother during her performance. In particular, we can see her performing a magnificent lift.

Sylvie Vartan announced it in all the media last week. She begins her farewell tour which is simply titled, I bow out. A way for her to retire in the most beautiful way. She was therefore performing at the Dôme de this weekend. Starting January 24, she will be at the Palais des Congrès for the last three appearances on stage of her life.

Sylvie Vartan begins her farewell tour

Emma Smet, Sylvie Vartan's granddaughter, would not have missed her grandmother's farewell tour for anything. She was therefore present at the Dôme de Paris to attend the show given by “Mimi” as she affectionately calls her. She even seemed impressed by his performance. We can, in fact, see Sylvie Vartan singing while being carried by her dancers. A notable performance at 80 years old. The singer returned in more detail to this last round of singing which she considered necessary before retiring for good.

“I have lived on a volcano since I started, 63 years ago. I've done so much that at some point you have to calm down a little. It's time. I can't continue at this crazy pace, even if I feel the same enthusiasm. I'm starting to get tired. For now, I still sing well, but it is inevitable that it will stop one day. I want to offer decent things, in the color I like and in the way I like. I definitely don't want to drag myself on stage! “.

A show full of surprises

In her 63-year career, Sylvie Vartan has met many beautiful people. The singer thus confided that there would be many surprises, without wanting to reveal too much. She also indicated that Michel Sardou, to her great regret, had refused to go back on stage with her. A disappointment which she does not seem to have taken too much offense at. Especially since his son David Hallyday was obviously present.

“It’s going to be like a musical comedy with the magical moments of my career which has been quite romantic. Everything I shared with the public from the age of 17 with the song 'Panne d'essence' in a duet with Frankie Jordan. I want it to remain a surprise, but obviously there will be at least Davidwith an orchestra of around fifteen musicians, my backing vocalists and my dancers.” For those who missed the three performances this weekend, there are only three dates left at the Palais des Congrès, from January 24 to 26, 2025.
