“May 1, 2024 is to be marked with a white stone within our municipality. Indeed, we celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Magisterian Future, the 70th anniversary of our football club,” rejoiced the mayor Bruno Dousson, for whom this is a great performance as the associative world suffers from a lack of volunteers. The club’s Veterans Association took charge of organizing this day. More than 220 people gathered, happy to meet again and remember good times past. A gala match pitted old and new players against each other in a festive atmosphere, just to honor those present. The speech of Jean-Paul Labernade, still on the move, followed that of Bruno Dousson, the last to wear the club’s colors for fourteen years, before leaving for the oval ball. The mayor congratulated the veterans who made this day possible and honored Jean-Paul and Renaud, leading figures in the organization of the festivities, having obtained vouchers from local merchants. The presidents were also rewarded, as well as Daniel Marsan, at the head of the club for more than twelve years, to whom we owe renowned regional youth tournaments, the creation of women’s teams and even the rise in departmental 2, and Jacques Vigouroux, known as “Jacquot”, twenty years of presidency out of forty years of presence. “Extremely long-lived, advisor and deputy on the municipal council, Jacques is loved by everyone. He is very simple and gives full meaning to the word volunteering.” Their wives both received a bouquet of flowers. Guillaume Clerc, transitional president, joined them during the speeches. Then followed a thought for Jean-Claude Vigouroux, who died recently, who was president for ten years. The laughter and smiles of this day quickly chased away the rain and the gloomy weather.
