The Philadelphia Phillies took everyone back to square one in the series against the New York Mets.

Sunday, in the second duel between the two teams, the Pennsylvania club won 7 to 6. It was a single from Nick Castellanos which ended the duel at the bottom of the ninth inning.

The star player came to the plate with two outs and a runner in scoring position. He didn’t miss this moment of playing the hero and making Citizens Bank Park explode with joy. Castellanos hit Tylor Megill’s offering with authority.

The Phillies had started the final inning of this game with a two-run lead. Mark Vientos, however, ensured that the match went to the limit by sending the ball out of bounds, while his teammate Francisco Lindor was already occupying the paths.

It was Vientos’ second home run in this matchup, having opened the scoring in the third. Pete Alonso also stretched his arms for the Mets during this engagement.

Bryce Harper and Castellanos allowed the Phillies to tie the game 3-3 in the sixth inning. To do this, they hit long balls one after the other.

In their next turn at bat, the Mets regained the lead thanks to Brandon Nimmo. The Philadelphia club, however, rolled up its sleeves in the eighth to give itself a first lead. Bryson Stott and JT Realmuto were the authors of these points.

The three of five series featuring the two American teams now moves to New York for matches number 3 and 4. The next duel is scheduled for Tuesday evening.
