The Fenerbahçe Basketball players won the European Super Cup for the second consecutive time on Thursday in Istanbul, against their rivals Besiktas (79-63) the day after tensions in the stands which led to the postponement of the meeting between the two Turkish teams .
Strengthened, among others, by its two French internationals and Olympic vice-champions Gabby Williams – freshly arrived from Asvel – and Marieme Badiane, Valérie Garnier’s Fenerbahçe was able to count in particular on the 11 points (7 rebounds, 5 assists) of the first, who was elected MVP of the meeting. Sevgi Uzun added 15 points for Fenerbahçe, who won a second consecutive European Super Cup after retaining their Euroleague title. American pivot Khaalia Hillsman scored 20 points (11 rebounds, 1 assist) for Besiktas.

Behind closed doors
The match took place behind closed doors at the TBF Development Center in Istanbul while the day before, incidents in the stands caused the match to be suspended after barely two minutes of play. In a press release, the International Basketball Federation ( Fiba) then mentioned “the behavior of supporters» and reports the postponement at 3:00 p.m. Thursday (French time, GMT+2).
