“I could see myself playing with Slafkovsky”

Juraj Slafkovsky was selected with the first overall pick in the 2022 draft.

Just before the draftwe remember that Slaf said he volunteered to play to the left of Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield because the CH was looking for a guy to complete the first trio…

And it finally happened this season. The guys had success together and we noticed how good the chemistry was between the three guys.

We are a little less than two months away from the next NHL draft and the recent comments of Cayden Lindstrom, a guy appreciated by CH management, are very similar to those of Slaf.

The big forward told Anthony Martineau (TVA Sports) that he could see himself playing with Slaf, a duo with dominant potential because we’re talking about two big guys on the ice:

I could see myself playing with Slafkovsky […] Slafkovsky is a big guy like me, so let’s just say we could get a lot of space on the ice! –Cayden Lindstrom

At 6’3′ and 210 pounds, Cayden Lindstrom already has the frame to play in the NHL and hold his own against older players.

Plus, he should continue to gain mass… Because he’s only 18 years old.

The lottery is in two days (Tuesday May 7) and that’s where we will have a better idea of what awaits the Canadian in the draft.

On the other hand, if it remains intact and management speaks at 5th place, the choice is practically impossible to predict at the moment because there will be good attackers always available. #CuvéeDeDéfenseurs

CH will have to make a decision, but we know that Kent Hughes wants to expand his club. Lindstrom fits into this vision… Just like Beckett Sennecke, who seems to be winning a lot of points lately.

This allows us to look forward to the draft even more, because the Canadian will have the opportunity to get his hands on a player he really likes.

It remains to be seen whether it will be Lindstorm, Sennecke, Catton or Iginla… Unless management changes their mind and decides to select a defender with their first choice.
