A first as his name quickly appeared in the news at the end of July, following the arrival of the Mbappé family as the main shareholder of the club.

On September 18, the club formalized its assumption of office as president. Also through its new manager, the Stade Malherbe Caen has changed its universe. Never such a profile had governed the Norman club founded in 1913, long run by local business leaders, with the recent exception of Olivier Pickeu, a former footballer who remained sports director of the SCO of Angers for 14 years, before taking over the presidency of the SM Caen in 2020.
