another absolutely spectacular MotoGP™ Grand Prix weekend in Spain, it’s time to put racing aside to focus on testing with the official Jerez Test.

6:00 p.m. – It’s over in Jerez! Fabio Di Giannantonio ends the day with the best time in 1’36.405. The VR46 driver is ahead of Maverick Viñales as well as Franco Morbidelli, who completes the top 3. Our French Fabio Quartararo and Johann Zarco rank 18th and 20th in this Test.

5:56 p.m. – Maverick Viñales accelerates! In the final moments, the Catalan set the second time in 1’36.492, just 87 thousandths behind Fabio Di Giannantonio who should finish at the top of the hierarchy.

5:50 p.m. – Augusto Fernández crashed 10 minutes from the end of the session in turn 7. Let’s hope it’s nothing serious for the GASGAS driver.

5:18 p.m. – With just over 40 minutes to go, Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3) and Alex Rins (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) improved their respective personal bests. The rookie is 11th, four tenths behind the leader while the Yamaha rider is 14th. Better from Yamaha?

17:10 – Pol Espargaró completed no less than 68 laps today and the Spaniard is only a little over a second behind leader Fabio Di Giannantonio. What a pleasure to see the No. 44 back on track today!

5:05 p.m. – As we enter the last hour of driving of the day, Franco Morbidelli reduces the gap with Diggia, who is now 122 thousandths ahead of his compatriot. Will we see a change of leader in the final moments?

4:52 p.m. – After an engine problem earlier in the day, Jorge Martín has just fallen at turn 9 but the Spaniard gets up.

12:00 – The second hour of driving ends in Jerez! For the moment, it is the winner of yesterday’s GP Francesco Bagnaia who dominates with a time of 1’36.589 ahead of Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) and Marc Márquez.

11:45 a.m. – After almost two hours of driving here in Jerez, let’s take a first look at what we observed on the track and in the different garages:

APRILIA: Aleix Espargaró has the new ride height device used by Lorenzo Savadori this weekend, while Raúl Fernández (Trackhouse Racing) tries the 2024 RS-GP as planned.

DUCATI: Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) plays with different settings while his compatriot Franco Morbidelli (Prima Pramac Racing) focuses on ergonomics.

HONDA: Stefan Bradl’s brand new RC213 is in the LCR team box. Johann Zarco (LCR Honda Castrol) and Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda Idemitsu) each have one available. For his part, Luca Marini (Repsol Honda Team) was entrusted with the new version of the chassis, while his teammate Joan Mir has two 2024 machines in the garage.

KTM/GASGAS: Nothing particular to report at the moment.
