British justice has decided to close the personal bankruptcy proceedings against former German tennis champion Boris Becker following an agreement with his receivers, his lawyer announced Thursday April 25.
The insolvency procedure opened against the former world number one in 2017 was “legally closed” by a decision rendered Wednesday by the High Court of London following this agreement, which also cancels its liability for the remaining residual debts, indicated its lawyer Christian-Oliver Moser in a press release. The six-time Grand Slam tournament winner spent eight months in prison in 2022 in the United Kingdom for these facts.
