RESULTS. Super League 2024: Tiga stalls, Hienghène and Kunié get some fresh air

At the end of the ninth and final day of the first leg of the Super League, the podium remains unchanged. The club waltz continues, however, at the bottom of the table.

There are now only nine matches left to play in the 2024 Super League season. The first leg concluded this Saturday, May 4 with a day which did not upset the ranking, but which highlighted the great versatility at the bottom of the table.

The most striking illustration: the surprising victory of Hienghène Sport, until then bottom of the table, against the second in the ranking, Horizon Patho (3-1). A relief for Félix Tagawa’s men, who moved up to eighth place and are now only two points from the qualifying zone for the play-offs.

New occupant of last place, AS Mont-Dore finds itself in a delicate situation after its defeat (2-0) against AS Kunié. The Isle of Pines club will not complain since with this result it leaves the red zone to settle in sixth place in the ranking.

AS Lössi would also have liked to give themselves a little breathing room, but in the absence of a victory, the Orange and Whites will be able to be satisfied with the draw (0-0) won against Tiga Sport. A result that looks like a poor performance for the leader, who nevertheless consolidates his first place and is now three points ahead of his runner-up Horizon Patho.

The best operation of this day can certainly be credited to AS Magenta, easy scorer of CA Saint-Louis (4-0) in Boulari. Thanks to this result, the reigning champion increases the pressure on Horizon Patho, returns to four points behind the leader and distances ASC Gaïca by three units in the ranking.

At the same time, the loyal club did not manage to get rid of SC Ne Drehu (1-1) on the lawn of the Hnassé stadium, after a derby which seemed to be the most balanced match of this ninth day. The result still allows ASC Gaïca to maintain a three-point lead over its opponent of the day.
