Sergio Perez’s father hospitalized after son’s accident in Baku
Sergio Perez’s father lost consciousness shortly after the Red Bull driver was involved in his crash in the final minutes of the Azerbaijan GP.
Perez was ultimately unharmed, but his father, politician Antonio Perez Garibay, was found unconscious in his Mexico City bathroom shortly afterward.
“The incident happened just after his son was impacted during the Azerbaijan GP in a collision with driver Carlos Sainz,” revealed the press office of Perez Senior.
The 65-year-old, a prominent figure in Mexican politics, was rushed to hospital where he is now in a “stable state” after a pre-heart attack.
“It all happened after I saw the accident,” said Perez Garibay.
“I’m used to these emotions but they’re already checking my heart to see why I fainted.”
