Kylian Mbappé, the big warning!

Having scored on Tuesday in his first match with Real Madrid in the Champions League, Kylian Mbappé is thinking bigger.

Forced to wait until his fourth appearance in La Liga to score his first goal in the Spanish championship, Kylian Mbappé did not take long to get his Champions League tally up. Although he missed a big opportunity in the first half after a number on the left flank, he struck immediately after the break, taking advantage of a golden offering from Rodrygo.

If he only had to push the ball into the empty goal to shake the net and put Real Madrid on the path to success with this 50e goal on the European stage, Kylian Mbappé nevertheless confirmed his rise to power thanks to this fourth goal in three matches. The former Parisian could therefore savour his evening at the end of the match.

Kylian Mbappé can “do better”

“It was a good evening, he confided to the microphone of Spanish television. We played against a good team and it wasn’t easy. But nothing is simple in the Champions League. We did the essentials and we’ll have to confirm that on Saturday in La Liga.” But the French world champion has bigger plans for the future. On an individual level as well as on a collective level.

“I can do more… I know I can do more, he whispered to the Movistar microphone at the end of the meeting. Every game I feel better and now I’m scoring goals.” The opportunity for the French striker to express his happiness again. “I am happy here”,
he said before affirming that the Champions League was not an obsession for him.

“When you play for Real Madrid you have to win all the titles, he explained. For me it’s a negative thing to come here and say I only want the Champions League. We try to win every game and when you wear that badge you have to win.”
