By car Anne – At a time when Paris is moving to 50 km/h, what are the speed limits on other French ring roads?

“It was better before”… Is the golden age of 90 km/h on French ring roads over? In 2024, the average will change and each major city has its own special recipe, much to the dismay of drivers. To reduce pollution, noise and traffic jams, many cities have adapted their speed.

Even though traffic often gets the better of the speed limit, from 110 to 70 km/h, users have to deal with a hefty fine. And for Parisians, it will now be 50 km/h. On the occasion of Anne Hidalgo’s announcement, 20 Minutes take the opportunity to take a little tour of our outskirts.

The crazy drivers

A Clermont-Ferrandwe don’t have time apparently. The A71-A75 Clermont ring road is limited to 110 km/h. Not bad for driving with your Michelin tires. On the side of Montpellierif we continue on the highway, we can also drive at 110 km/h but at 90 km/h or 70 on the ring road to enter the metropolis. Between the Haute-Garonne and the Gersthe ring road, or rather the ring road, also runs at 110 km/h, to quickly access the countryside.

But at present, 110 km/h is rare on these expressways, unlike motorways which could move to this speed limit.
