Having become a hub for Olympique de Marseille this season, Valentin Rongier is the subject of extensive interest from Stade Rennais. Daniel Riolo reveals that the Bretons are ready to drop millions for the midfielder!
Jorge Sampaoli wants to recover Valentin Rongier at Stade Rennais. However, Olympique de Marseille is not a seller. The midfielder is included in Roberto De Zerbi's squad and does not appear to be on the market. Daniel Riolo explained this Monday on RMC that the Breton club is ready to break the bank to secure his services. “Rennes is ready to go all out on Rongier. It’s not going to say that it’s going to happen because Marseille is not at all decided to listen,” explains the journalist on RMC.
Does Sampaoli want Rongier? De Zerbi's answer
A few hours before the match against HAC this Sunday, Roberto De Zerbi was in front of the press to answer questions. The Italian coach was notably questioned about the rumor sending Valentin Rongier to Rennes. The coach confirms that the player is considered non-transferable.
“Sampaoli will have to look for another player because Valentin Rongier cannot be transferred,” answered by Roberto De Zerbi.
As early as November, upon his arrival at Stade Rennais, Jorge Sampaoli would have started discussions with Valentin Rongier and his entourage for a departure to Brittany. The OM midfielder would not, however, be on the market. This winter, according to RMC, it would not be impossible for the Bretons to come back to recruit him. As a reminder, Sampaoli has just picked up Seko Fofana from Rennes.
