This Thursday, Portuguese coach Leonardo Jardim received the trophy for best coach of the month of December in the United Arab Emirates championship.
For his return to the United Arab Emirates, Leonardo Jardim has had a rather successful start. Winner three times in his first four league matches, the Portuguese coach recently received a great individual distinction.
Successful debut for Leonardo Jardim
A full first month, punctuated by a first trophy. This Thursday, Portuguese coach Leonardo Jardim was awarded the title of best coach of the month for December in the United Arab Emirates championship, after a string of convincing performances in the ranks of Al Ain.
Arriving in office last November, the former AS Monaco coach began his adventure with a victory against Al-Orooba, before experiencing more difficulties on the continental scene. Since the start of December, the team led by the Portuguese has accumulated no less than two victories in three league matches, and was then able to record another success in the League Cup.
Al Ain relaunches in the championship
A series of successes which allow the club to relaunch in the UAE Pro League. Indeed, while it only had 8 points before the arrival of the Portuguese technician, the Al Ain club now has a total of 18 points, and is at the foot of the podium with a match in hand.
Al Ain's good series could, however, be disrupted during this weekend. This Sunday, Leonardo Jardim and his team will host the undisputed leader of the championship, namely Al Sharjah. If he can count on his experience to negotiate this meeting and its challenges, the Portuguese technician will certainly have to rely on the impressive form of his star striker, Kodjo Fo Doh Laba, to overcome his opponent. Since the arrival of his new coach, this 32-year-old Togolese international has scored an impressive total of 9 goals in 4 league matches.
