A meeting which does not present any particular risk in terms of security but which is nevertheless the subject of an order from the Loire Prefecture, in order to regulate the movement of supporters of the Stade de Reims, a measure notably justified as follows: “The behavior of Saint-Etienne ultra supporters is often unpredictable, and can change during and after a match, even with groups with whom there was previously no history.”
It is for this reason in particular that the Loire Prefecture has taken the following measures to supervise the movement of Rémois residents to Geoffroy-Guichard:
- A mandatory meeting point is set for Saturday January 4 at 4:00 p.m. at exit no. 13 of the A72 motorway.
- Stade de Reims supporters will be escorted by the police from this assembly point to the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium.
- Reims supporters' vehicles must be parked exclusively in the parking lot dedicated to visitors within the stadium.
- At the end of the match, fans must follow instructions from law enforcement to leave the stadium safely.
As a reminder, the Kop Nord as well as the Kop Sud of the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium will be closed during this meeting by decision of the LFP disciplinary committee. This will also be the case for the reception of the Football Club de Nantes.
