To referee the clash between ASSE and OM, scheduled for next Sunday, the LFP has chosen Jerome Brisard. A referee who brings back good memories to the Phocaeans
ASSE – OM: Jérôme Brisard with a favorable record for Marseillais
The Professional Football League (LFP) has revealed the refereeing for the 14th day of Ligue 1, and it is Jérôme Brisard who will have the difficult task of directing the clash between AS Saint-Étienne and Olympique de Marseille. This match, which will take place on Sunday evening at Geoffroy-Guichard, is already shaping up to be an electric encounter, especially as it is a dress rehearsal before the 32nd final of the Coupe de France.
Note that Jérôme Brisard is not unknown to Marseille supporters. The 38-year-old referee has already officiated twelve Olympians matches, for a rather favorable record with six wins, five draws and only one defeat. Last season, he led the draws against Metz and Strasbourg. In addition, in 2020, he refereed an OM victory in Saint-Étienne (0-2).
The Saint-Etienne supporters will perhaps remember the referee less, but they will be keen to swing the match in their favor. This ASSE-OM clash, which promises to be exciting, will therefore be placed under close arbitration surveillance. Jérôme Brisard's decisions could have a decisive impact on the outcome of the match and the rest of the season for both teams.
