“I love this kid”, Amorim under the spell of a Mancunian flop!

A new adventure begins for Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese coach left Sporting Portugal during the international break to sign with Manchester United for the next three seasons.

The 39-year-old manager takes his first steps in the Premier League this Sunday on the pitch of promoted Ipswich. In a pre-match press conference this Saturday, the former Sporting player revealed that he was a fan of one of the midfielders in his squad, namely Mason Mount.

» Mason Mount, I have to tell you I love this kid. You can see in his eyes that he is determined. I know he was suffering from injuries, he wasn't on the pitch, but now he's trying to stay fit and we hope he can continue to be fit, to show all the talent he showed, for example at Chelsea,”

he told journalists.

Starting this Sunday in the championship?

With such statements, will Ruben Amorim start Mason Mount this Sunday on the Ipswich pitch? It is unlikely because the Englishman has been back on the field since November 7. On the other hand, if he were to regain his best level, there is no doubt that he could establish himself as a key piece of the Portuguese coach.

This season, the number 7 of the Red Devils has only played 6 matches in all competitions for 3 starts. The England international hopes to reverse the trend in the coming weeks. To be continued…
