Paris Saint-Germain tried everything to afford Lamine Yamal. The Spanish international was the Parisians' priority target to replace Kylian Mbappé, according to Enric Masip. The advisor to the president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, confirms that PSG offered more than 200 million for the 17-year-old Catalan nugget during the summer transfer window.
“The president said he had an offer of 200 million which he had rejected (…) Yamal, the perfect replacement for Mbappé? Well, when you have money and you have the means to pay, you can hope to try to sign everyone”, launched the leader of the FCB at the microphone ofThe Chiringuito.
Yamal was extended by Laporta recently. Officially, his lease expires in June 2026 but the jewel of the Blaugrana would be linked until 2029 or even 2030 with his training club. His salary would be progressive and formalization would only take place upon reaching the age of majority.
Aged only 17, he would not have the right to receive too high a salary in Spain before he turned 18. In 2025, we will clearly know what lease and for what salary Yamal has committed to Barça over the long term.
