While Joan Laporta's advisor assured in recent hours that a French club had offered €250 million for Lamine Yamal last summer, obviously talking about PSG without mentioning him, the Parisian club formally denied having submitted such an offer at Barça.
New nugget of Barça and world football, Lamine Yamal (17 years old) is the head of Joan Laporta's new project, who likes to repeat for several months now that he refused an offer of 250 million euros for his winger last summer. If the president of Barça has never said publicly which club it was, the Spanish media are convinced that it is PSG.
Monday, in the podcast of Josep Pedrerol, famous Spanish presenter of El Chiringuito, the advisor to the president of Barça, Enric Masip, returned to Lamine Yamal's last summer transfer window. Did Barça really almost lose him? “The president already said he received an offer of 250 million, an offer he rejected and never considered (accepting)”replied Masip.
And when Pedrerol asked him if the offer in question came from France or England, Laporta's advisor replied: “From France”. If Masip did not mention PSG himself, Pedrerol did it for him by saying that Yamal would have been the perfect successor to Kylian Mbappé. To which Laporta’s advisor responded: “When you have money and you can afford to pay, you can aspire to try to recruit everyone”.
PSG denies having offered €250 million for Yamal
This media release obviously made noise in Spain, but as last July at the time of the first rumors from the Spanish press, PSG firmly denied to L'Equipe having made such an offer.
PSG even denies “a million percent” this offer for Yamal, explaining that if Luis Campos inquired about the player's situation last summer, the club did not go further and could not afford to make such an offer anyway.
