The Egyptian Minister of Labor, Mohamed Jibran, welcomed the Malaysian ambassador to Egypt this Tuesday, November 19, to his office in the new administrative capital.
This meeting is part of efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various areas related to labor and skills development.
Strategic collaboration at the heart of bilateral relations
During this meeting, both sides reaffirmed the depth of relations between their countries, highlighting the progress made during the recent visit of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to Cairo.
This visit highlighted a shared commitment to strengthening partnerships in key areas such as trade, investment, education, and scientific research.
Minister Jibran and the Malaysian ambassador placed particular emphasis on vocational training. Egypt wants to benefit from Malaysia’s experience in technological sectors such as electronics.
The Egyptian minister proposed the development of a memorandum of understanding to structure this cooperation.
He also invited his Malaysian counterpart to visit Egypt to discuss practical arrangements and explore more avenues for collaboration.
Mr. Jibran highlighted Egypt’s interest in welcoming more Malaysian investments, particularly in the strategic sectors of natural gas and the automobile industry.
He affirmed his ministry’s willingness to provide a qualified and trained workforce to meet the needs of these projects, through close cooperation with Malaysia.
The Malaysian ambassador praised Egyptian efforts to promote fruitful bilateral relations.
