Jorge Sampaoli would have checked the name of a former Olympique de Marseille to strengthen Stade Rennais. The Argentine tactician would like to bring back one of his former favorites in midfield.
Jorge Sampaoli hopes to strengthen his eleven and quickly. Two profiles greatly interest the Argentine coach, he admitted: players trained in France and Brazil. So, Globo Esporte announces that Stade Rennais wants to recruit two elements from Flamengo. The first is a well-known figure from OM: Gerson.
The Brazilian international has found Sampaoli twice already: in Marseille and Flamengo. Each time, he behaved well but seemed to enjoy his Brazilian life. Now regularly called up for selection, Gerson is one of the stars of his country's championship after a failed experience at Canebière.
Another name from Flamengo, Sampaoli would have validated the track leading to Fabricio Bruno. The Brazilian central defender was already on Rennes' books during the 2024 summer transfer window.
No offer has been made to date but interest still exists for the winter of 2025. In his place, the SRFC finally hired Mika Faye.
