The France Tabac project

In Sarlat, in Dordogne, a former tobacco factory closed since 2019 is reborn in a new form: the France Tabac project, supported by the Ciné Passion association.
This vast program, supported by the France 2030 plan, aims to create an ecosystem around cinema, combining film studios, technical training and resources.

The France Tabac project is structured around three main pillars:

  1. Film studios : Two film studios will be set up. The first, with an area of 1000 m² and a height of 17 meters, will be designed to accommodate professional filming, ranging from local productions to international projects. The second, a 400 m² technical platform, will be dedicated to training.
  2. School of technical cinema professions : A training center will support the development of skills in technical cinema professions, thus responding to growing demand in the sector.
  3. Resourcing : Over 6000 m², a resource center will make it possible to recover and reuse materials from the decorations, promoting an eco-responsible approach.

A major project supported by France 2030

Labeled as part of the France 2030 program, and more specifically via the call for projects “La Grande Fabrique de l'Image”, this project aims to strengthen the French film industry.
