Lille's good season allowed Jonathan David to shine, and vice versa. The Canadian striker, however, wanted to send a message about his future.
LOSC's star striker in recent years, Jonathan David has always been announced as leaving but has each time remained in the North. This was again the case this summer and it is not the Lille supporters who will complain about it. The Canadian continues to score valuable goals, and even seems in the form of his life since he also takes the Mastiffs to the Champions League. However, on an accounting and especially financial level, LOSC will have a very bad operation since Jonathan David has decided to leave the club at the end of the season, without bringing in a single cent. He will in fact be at the end of his contract, and according to Italian informant Nicolo Schira, he explained one last time to his managers that he would not extend his commitment. He is now ready to go at the end of the season and so that will be the case. He will then be 25 years old and will probably have no trouble finding a very high level club given his talent, his sense of goal, and his contract ending.
10 ME signing bonus, David sends the bill
For his future club, Jonathan David at least has the merit of knowing what he wants on a personal level. This is a salary multiplied by three, which will go from 2 million euros per year to 6. The fact of arriving free will also allow him to pocket a signing bonus which should now reach 10 million euros . Suffice to say that it is never completely free for the club which will sign him, but it remains cheaper than a transfer if he had always been under the contract. In the meantime, Bruno Genesio and the Lille residents will try to make the most of their Canadian, well on their way to helping LOSC have a great season in Ligue 1 and in the Champions League.
