Invincible, Brest wins in Prague and recovers 2nd place

The magnificent story continues for Éric Roy's men. This Wednesday evening, Stade Brestois traveled to the Epet Arena pitch as part of the fourth day of the regular phase of the Champions League to face Sparta Prague. A meeting which saw the Breton club win by a score of two goals to one and continue its historic journey. The Ty-Zefs are second in this Champions League, with a record of three victories and a draw against Bayer Leverkusen.

breaks the Czech barrier in 1st

Stade Brestois will put their foot directly on the ball. Not enough to give you the first thrills at the Epet Arena. Sparta Prague is, despite everything, more than embarrassed by the tactics put in place by the French team. In the thirteenth minute of play, the visitors came close to opening the score. After a big mistake on a back pass, Ludovic Ajorque throws himself to get ahead of the opposing goalkeeper. The latter, however, made a classy save before suffering a foul from the center forward. The Czechs will quickly react and put pressure on their French counterparts. Pesek is found at the far post and volleys back. It was cleared urgently by the Brest rearguard.

In the 26th minute of play, Ludovic Ajorque will try his luck from an ultra-tight angle. The former Racing Club de player in particular is not far from deceiving Vindahl but his attempt narrowly escapes the target. Eric Roy's men are in good shape and will begin to really dominate the locals. Less than ten minutes later, Kenny Lala will offer a superb ball behind the opposing defense for Kamory Doumbia. The latter unscrews completely. What an opportunity for SB29! A few seconds later, Brest will open the scoring. Edimilson Fernandes is on the back of a rejected corner and throws himself to volley. What a goal from the Breton midfielder! Sparta Prague will try to react immediately, but will cruelly lack precision in their last gesture.

Brest makes the break and is second

Stade Brestois will return to the pitch with the intention of quickly making a break. As soon as they return from the locker room, Pierre Lees-Melou arrives and tries to adjust the opposing goalkeeper. That just misses the point. In the 52nd minute of play, Sparta Prague will see its last defense take its time to clear. Ludovic Ajorque counters the ball but sees it go out of bounds. What a shame! Shortly after the hour mark, Éric Roy's men again came very close to making the break and thus took cover. Ludovic Ajorque finds Mahdi Camara with a wonderful backheel. The midfielder, however, cannot find the target. It's getting closer for the Bretons who will, however, have to be careful not to regret their multiple opportunities.

After having suffered, Sparta Prague will try to get their foot back on the ball. Pushed by its public, the Czech club will begin to put more impact into its game. Entering the last quarter of an hour, the locals will once again be guilty of a big error. Ludovic Ajorque procrastinates a little too much before shifting Mahdi Camara, who slips before hitting. It's deflected for a corner. The Ty-Zefs are not giving up and want to maintain their status as the new greats of Europe. In the 80th minute of play, Ludovic Ajorque crosses hard in front of the goal. Kaan Kairinien deceives his own goalkeeper and reduces the hopes of his team to nothing. At the end of the match, Sparta Prague will reduce the gap through Olatunji. Stade Brestois wins again and is therefore undefeated in four Champions League matches… with a second place.
