Kylian Mbappé’s Real Madrid knows its official program for the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia next January.
Busy schedule for the reigning Champions League winner. Real Madrid began its season with the European Super Cup against Atalanta in mid-August, just before the start of La Liga. And if the Club World Cup expanded to 32 teams is scheduled for next summer (June 15-July 13), Kylian Mbappé’s Merengues will compete in the Intercontinental Cup on December 18 in Qatar. The competition (once prestigious) is back with a new formula: the European representative faces the winner of the play-offs between the five other continental champions (Al Ahly faces Al Ain, Pachuca awaits the winner of the Copa Libertadores).
Real will then resume competition in 2025 with the Spanish Super Cup, with a Final Four which will once again be organized in Saudi Arabia for the fifth year. The program has been made official in recent hours: Real, reigning Spanish champion, will face Mallorca, losing finalist of the last Copa del Rey, on Wednesday January 8. The next day, the
Barçavice-champion, will face Bilbao, winner of the Copa del Rey against the Balearic team.
Mbappé already a scorer in Riyadh
Spanish football, the supporters of both clubs as well as Riyadh are impatiently awaiting a Clasico in the final of this Supercopa, on Sunday January 12. There was one during the Spanish Supercopa last January. Real had inflicted a 4-1 on the Blaugranas, with a hat-trick from Vinicius.
Kylian Mbappé could thus play his first official match in Saudi Arabia, he who scored in Riyadh during a gala friendly match between PSG and a selection of the best players from Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr, in January 2023. The Parisians won 5-4 with other goals scored by Lionel Messi, Marquinhos, Sergio Ramos and Hugo Ekitike, against a double from Cristiano Ronaldo opposite.
