Ah gosh, for a surprise!
Having just retired, Andrés Iniesta is looking ahead to the rest of his footballing life. Unsurprisingly, the former pocket midfielder, deprived of the 2010 Ballon d’Or, dreams of becoming a coach. Which is not hard to imagine, let’s be honest. “For now I want to start training, learn everything there is to learn off the field and from there we will see what happens”says Andrés Iniesta, in an interview with Sport.
So, what is the Spaniard’s dream club? Surprisingly, this is FC Barcelona, where the midfielder spent only 16 years: “Being Barça coach is something very important, but for now I want to progress and see what happens. Of course I might like it… (Laughs.) But it’s one thing to love something and it’s another thing to see what happens. I would like to be at Barça and in the national team, in those places where I have been and in those with which I identify. But today I think more in the short term. We’ll see what happens. »
At least Xavi has lowered expectations on Barca’s side.
