FC Barcelona is experiencing major financial management problems. The transfer of Ousmane Dembélé to PSG illustrates this situation well. Barça had to give half of the transfer fee to the player. Now, an agent is also demanding his dues.

Each transfer window looks like a real headache for FC Barcelona and its president Joan Laporta. The Catalan club must develop sportingly with an abysmal debt and all means are good to achieve this: deferred salaries, transfers spread over several years, very advantageous contracts for the players among others. These tools sometimes give rise to funny situations as was the case with Ousmane Dembélé. Having left for PSG in 2023 for 50 million euros, the French winger had recovered half of this sum thanks to a clause decided at the time of his last extension.

An agent demands 10 ME from Barça

The operation was therefore less advantageous than expected for FC Barcelona and it may not be over. Indeed, according to information from the media The Athletic, a player agent is currently suing Barça regarding this transfer of Dembélé. Member of the Scores Sports Management agency, the mysterious intermediary is demanding the sum of 10 million euros from the Blaugranas since he believes he had a major role in the transaction.

Neither the agent nor Scores Sports Management represent Ousmane Dembélé. The Barcelona court will have to quickly resolve the dispute while FC Barcelona has many others to manage. Barça is involved in 8 different disputes over transfers or bonuses to be paid to former players of the club. Suffice to say that the Catalans cannot afford to drop 10 million euros so easily to a simple agent.
