Like the first team, PSG Espoirs launch their European campaign this Wednesday (3pm) with a match against Girona at the PSG Campus. Presentation of this PSG/Girona Youth League version: line-up and broadcast can be found below.

The official debut of the PSG Espoirs team

PSG makes its big comeback in the Youth League this Wednesday from 3pm against Girona. A match that will be played at the PSG Campus, nine months after the defeat of Zoumana Camara’s U19s against Dortmund, synonymous with early elimination in this Champions League for young people. Like the Champions League, the Youth League is getting a makeover this season and you can find all the details of the new formula via the link below.

Another new feature this year is that it is not the U19 team now coached by Thomas Leyssales that will play in the Youth League, but the new Espoirs team created this summer and which has only played friendly matches so far. This team is coached by David Suarez, who initially arrived from Clermont to coach the academy’s forwards before being promoted to head the Espoirs group. An Espoirs group that will however be reinforced by several elements of the U19 team.

Let us recall that the Youth League is reserved for players born from January 1, 2006 with the possibility of aligning three jokers born from January 1, 2005. Ayman Kari (2004) cannot therefore play in this competition for example. PSG will also line up a very young team against Girona with only three 2006s at kick-off, compared to nine on the Catalan side (see below).

A PSG composition that has changed a lot in nine months

Compared to the last PSG team lined up in the Youth League last December, there aren’t many left. Louis Mouquet (2004) and Yoram Zague (2006) are in Luis Enrique’s squad for tonight’s Champions League match (as are Senny Mayulu, born in 2006), Ibrahim Mbaye (2008) is suspended after being sent off against Dortmund on December 13, while Joane Gadou (2007) joined Salzburg this summer and Ethan Mbappe (2006) went to .

As against Dortmund last December, we will find the young midfielder Ibrahima Diaby (2007), who inherited the captain’s armband since the creation of this Espoirs group. The scorer Mahamadou Sangaré (2007) will also be a starter, as in December.

PSG will play in 3-4-3 with Naoufel in particular El Hannach (2006) in central defense, he who was in Luis Enrique’s group against last weekend. Two players born in 2008 will also start: defender Emmanuel Mbemba Nlandu and winger Elijah Ly. Defender David Boly (2009) is in the group, just like the midfielder Rayan Abo El Nay (2007), author of a hat-trick with the U19s last weekend. Both are on the bench.

The official line-up of PSG against Girona: Laurendon (2006) – El Hannach (2006), Tape (2007), Mbemba Nlandu (2008) – Fanne Drame (2007), Nzinga (2007), Diaby (2007), Cordier (2006) – Camara (2007), Sangaré ( 2007), Ly (2008)

The PSG bench : Vignaud (2008), Bagbonon (2005), Legrix (2005), Khafi (2006), Ayari (2008), Abo El Nay (2007), Boly (2009)

The official composition of Girona against PSG: Andreev (2006) – Camara (2007), Baides (2006), Aguilera (2006), Badia (2006) – Garcia (2006), Clua (2005), Coromina (2006) – Kim (2006), Arango (2006), Hamony (2006)

A PSG/Girona not broadcast on TV, but…

For this first Youth League match of the PSG season, which starts at 3 p.m., no broadcast has been announced by the Canal group, which has also bought the rights to the competition. The match will however be broadcast live and streamed on PSG TV Premium, which costs 1.99 euros per month or 9.99 euros per year.
