Cristiano Ronaldo bags goal number 903 as Al-Nassr defeat Al-Wehda 2-0 in Saudi Pro League

Cristiano Ronaldo marked his return to Al-Nassr’s starting lineup with a goal from the penalty spot, helping his side secure a 2-0 victory over 10-man Al-Wehda in the Saudi Pro League. This win propelled Al-Nassr to second place in the standings.

Ronaldo, who had been rested during Al-Nassr’s 2-1 win over Al-Hazm earlier in the week, was back in action and netted his fourth goal of the season and 903 in his career.

Former Chelsea player Angelo Gabriel opened the scoring in the 41st minute with a fortunate goal, as his mis-hit cross found its way into the back of the net.

Al-Nassr were awarded a penalty in the 56th minute after Sultan Al-Ghannam was fouled, and Ronaldo coolly converted to double his team’s lead.

Sadio Mane thought he had added a third goal, but it was ruled out due to Ronaldo being offside during the build-up. Al-Wehda’s Waleed Bakshween was later sent off for a reckless challenge in the 86th minute.

This was Al-Nassr’s third consecutive win under new manager Stefano Pioli, who replaced Luis Castro earlier in the month. Ronaldo’s goal helped secure the points as Al-Nassr now turns their attention to the AFC Champions League, where they face Al-Rayyan next.
