Its name probably means something to you, and that’s normal! Since 2010, Mathieu Lamoulie has performed all over , on the pitches of Pro D2 and Top 14, with his favorite club, SU .

A native of Marmande, the latter experienced ups and downs with Agen. The nightmare season of 2021 in Top 14, but also the Pro D2 title in 2015 and 2017. Above all, over the years, Lamoulie has been a driving force of the club and an indisputable starter for many seasons, playing no less than 211 games.

A very versatile player, it is at the back that he has built most of his career, although he has also helped out at the opening or even in the center, whether as first or second blade. He even scored in several matches.

But at 34 years old and after 14 years of career, the latter decided to hang up his boots last year, after twelve contested matches, for 12 starts. Obviously, following a breathtaking summer, the resumption of the various championships seemed to rekindle the flame and passion that was within him, and he should set himself one last challenge.

With his friend and former manager of Fleurance for the last five seasons, Nicolas Dupouy, Mathieu Lamoulie took part in a training session with the Fleurantin group. The two friends, who had promised to finish their careers together, would be about to seriously put on their boots again, in the fourth division of French rugby.

For Dupouy, who has not played for several seasons, nothing is certain yet and the former Gers manager is training with humility alongside his former players. Lamoulie could thus be tempted to take his license, although the latter admitted to our colleagues at La Dépêche that “Nothing had been done yet.”

If the latter were signed, Fleurance would carry out a great operation with an experienced player who could quickly become a leader. In addition to that, the Gersois squad was shaken up during the summer period.

It now remains to monitor the match sheets of the AFS which travels to Marmande this weekend, before hosting for the Gers derby which promises to be hot, like every year.
