-

The three candidates for the Algerian presidential election of September 7, 2024, published a joint statement on Sunday, September 8, in which they criticized the provisional results published by the electoral authority (Anie). The latter announced a victory for President Abdelmadjid Tebboune with more than 94% of the vote. However, the electoral authority did not provide precise figures on the turnout, estimating it at an average of 48.03%. This figure contradicts other figures released by Anie.

Ce « average voting rate ” contested remains 7 points lower than that of 2019. The Anie had officially extended the vote by one hour on Saturday. But one of the candidates points out that these offices remained open four hours longer.

In an unprecedented move and in a joint statement, the campaign directors of three candidates for the supreme office in Algeria denounce ” ambiguities, imprecisions, contradictions and inconsistencies that were noted in the figures, during the provisional results ».

The three candidates also mentioned ” an error in the announcement of the percentages for each candidate “They indicate that the minutes at their disposal do not correspond to the figures proclaimed, namely 94% for the outgoing president Abdelmadjid Tebboune, 3.1% of the votes for the president of the moderate Islamist party MSP Abdelaali Hassani, then 2.16% for Youssef Aouchiche of the Front of Socialist Forces.
