Canada’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, François-Philippe Champagne, is reportedly preparing to support Mark Carney in the race to succeed Justin Trudeau as leader of the Liberal Party of Canada (PLC). ).

The former governor of the Bank of Canada also received the support of two other high-ranking ministers in the Quebec Cabinet, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mélanie Joly, and the Minister of the Environment, Steven Guilbeault.

Mr Carney also has the support of former Immigration Minister Sean Fraser, who became Housing Minister until his departure in December.
