Juan Branco, it is him who is in question, denounces the persistent collusion with the French representatives, symbols of a Françafrique which he accuses of being reborn under paternalistic forms. Between betrayal of sovereignist ideals and capitulation to the colonial heritage, it raises profound questions about memory, sovereignty and national dignity in Senegal.
This exit from Branco comes at a time when he is encountering certain difficulties in France. The black robe was suspended from his functions for nine months by the Council of the Paris Bar Association. The sanction stems from the publication, on social networks, of extracts from ongoing criminal proceedings involving Nissia B, an actress who accuses him of rape. According to many French media, four women also testified in “Libération” about the rapes and sexual assaults of which they were victims of Branco between 2017 and 2021. Added to his fierce opposition to Macron's policies, he has reason to become radicalized.
But he did not choose the right way to protect the “PROJECT”. Criticizing the management of Bassirou Diomaye Faye and Ousmane Sonko was not intelligent on his part. After having worked with patriots for years, the black dress knows that they are allergic to criticism. Especially when it directly affects the PROS. Even if there is some truth in the lawyer's speech, he attacked the wrong target and he will not say otherwise. These social media posts are infested with negative comments.
In a period of time, Ousmane Sonko's supporters forgot everything that Branco did for their famous “PROJECT”. They did not miss it for what is considered interference in the management of a sovereign state. The struggles in the canoe, the arrest in Mauritania and the transfer to Dakar, then the indictment and the short stay in prison…all of this was thrown in the trash by the “fanatics” of the regime in place. They have reduced their favorite lawyer to its simplest form.

Especially with the file he had prepared on the victims of the demonstrations from March 2021 to June 2023.
Patriots are self-sufficient. They think they are capable of moving mountains single-handedly. But what PASTEF forgot is that it has allies who support them. Apart from the companions of fortune, there are also the Senegalese people who carry Sonko. The day they lose this sympathy from the Senegalese and the allies, their great adventure will be over.
