On this Saturday, December 7, 2024, the unions, at the initiative of the CFDThad launched a call for a strike in all stores Decathlon. Marylise Léon, general secretary of the CFDTmade the trip to the Place de la Madeleine in Paris to support the demonstrators. Beyond Decathlon, it is the opacity ofMulliez Family Association (AFM) to the multiple brands that the union points out. “We are asking that the AFM be recognized as a group, which is not currently the case. Management is done entity by entity and there are enormous disparities between the brands of the Mulliez Family Association. There is absolutely no visibility on how this group operates and how the legal and financial arrangements are made. On the other hand, when it comes to recouping the dividends, they agree to come together and share the cake, declared Marylise Léon. If the AFM were recognized as a real group, this would have social implications and it would give them obligations so that employees are treated in the same way. »
Several AFM brands in the CFDT’s sights
The general secretary of the CFDT cited the actions carried out in recent months for the employees of several brands in the Mulliez galaxy. « Chez Flunchwe challenged the PSE and it was not approved by the administration”rejoiced Marylise Léon. The Hauts-France regional directorate for the economy, employment and work (DREET), which made the decision regarding the
non-approval of the unilateral document relating to Flunch's social plan, noted in particular “the insufficiency of resources allocated to the measures of the plan taking into account the financial capacity of the group”, according to the CFDT. The general secretary also cited Auchan who wants to eliminate 2389 positions. “A few years ago, 1 billion in dividends were paid to Auchan shareholders and now there is a PSE. Today, it is Decathlon which pays 1 billion euros in dividends, we hope that history will not repeat itself… However, working conditions at Decathlon are deteriorating: 1000 positions have not been replaced in two years”, lamented Marylise Léon. Finally, the Secretary General mentioned Leroy Merlin where 225 positions should be eliminated. “There too, there are deteriorating working conditions and departures that are not replaced. While the company has had three exceptional years since Covid-19, management does not want to increase salaries,” castigated the general secretary. The CFDT also questions the public aid received by the Mulliez brands. “We asked the deputies to open a parliamentary commission of inquiry into the use that was made of this aid,” recalled Marylise Léon. And to conclude: “for the CFDT, sharing value and respect for employees are the two major issues. »
