Women’s rights: Morocco shares its model of promotion and protection in Rome

Morocco presented in Rome its national program for the promotion of women’s rights, highlighting public policies and legislative reforms initiated under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. During the meeting organized by the Moroccan Embassy, Ambassador Rajae Naji Mekkaoui detailed the Kingdom’s progress in legislation on parity, the fight against violence against women and economic empowerment.

This national program is based on a series of laws and financial mechanisms that promote the participation of women in all sectors, and also includes measures for the protection of victims of violence. Considerable efforts have been made to strengthen the legal framework, including specialized training for justice professionals and the establishment of infrastructure dedicated to victims.

Morocco continues to move forward on the path to equality and human rights, supported by civil society and international partnerships with institutions such as the United Nations Population Fund and the National Union of Moroccan Women. This initiative was highlighted during a meeting marked by the presence of diplomats and civil society actors.
