Winner of the first round of early legislative elections, the National Rally, and its president Jordan Bardella, recalls one of its flagship proposals: the abolition of land law.

Coming in first in the early legislative elections, the National Rally gathered nearly 33% of the votes, according to initial estimates from the Elabe institute, with BFMTV, RMC and the Tribune Dimanche. Jordan Bardella could be able to obtain an absolute majority in the National Assembly, according to our projections: he would obtain between 260 and 310 seats, with the threshold for an absolute majority being set at 289 deputies.

If it comes to power after these elections, what does the RN propose? In addition to the issues of purchasing power and security, Marine Le Pen’s party has a full section to deal with immigration. In particular, it will remove a historic element of the French legal framework: the right of the soil.

“French nationality should be inherited or earned”

On this subject, the RN wants to pass an “emergency law” in the weeks following the legislative elections which would notably make it possible to eliminate it. During the press conference presenting the National Rally program, Jordan Bardella referred to this measure as “the third great emergency”.

This land right “is no longer justified in a world of 8 billion individuals. And while the daily proofs of our inability to integrate and assimilate multiply on our soil”, justified the one who positions himself as a possible Prime Minister. minister.

A measure already defended by Marine Le Pen in recent months. “French nationality should be inherited or earned,” assures the finalist of the last presidential election. “The right of the soil should be abolished throughout France,” explained the president of the RN group in the National Assembly.

Today, being born in France is not enough to automatically obtain French nationality. It can be granted upon reaching the age of majority, when a child is born in France to two foreign parents, if the child resides in France at the age of 18 and for a period of at least five years since the age of 11.

In addition to this measure, in the immigration section of the RN program, there is also the replacement of state medical aid with a fund that would only cover “vital emergencies”. Jordan Bardella also wants to speed up the expulsion procedures for illegal immigrants found guilty of crimes and offenses and reduce the conditions for access to family reunification, as well as limit access to social assistance to the French.
