In November 2023, a teacher at the Lycée Blaise-Cendrars in La Chaux-de-Fonds and a cantonal artistic school was dismissed. He had slept with several of his students, all of whom were sexually adults. The affair led to the launch of a petition, which called for better prevention against power buses in schools.
The teacher appealed twice to the Cantonal Court, deeming the sanction disproportionate. The judgment has been rendered, communicates the Neuchâtel Council of State. The Cantonal Court admitted the two appeals, canceled the two terminations and sent the case back for new decisions, in particular for the following reasons: certain facts alleged against the teacher are prescribed, so that no fault can be found for them , and others would require the instruction to be completed.
