An 11-month-old baby returned from his home daycare in Longueuil, in Montérégie, last Monday with serious burns.
The little girl was doing well when her mother took her to Les Dauphins daycare on Dollard Street, according to the family.

But when her grandfather went to pick her up in the afternoon, he noticed that her hand was bright red.
He allegedly confronted the educator, who claimed that the child had fallen on his hand.

The man took his granddaughter to the hospital, where doctors confirmed that she did indeed suffer serious burns that may require a transplant.

“When I saw my daughter in triage, her hand was completely… it was horrible. [Sa main] was red, red, blood red, swollen. She was upset, she really wasn’t doing well,” the baby’s mother told TVA Nouvelles.
The mother does not know whether it was an accident or a deliberate act and is trying to understand what could have happened to her 11-month-old child.
“It’s unimaginable, it’s a nightmare. I don’t understand yet, it hurts. […] I want to know what happened, what she did to my daughter,” she said, her throat tight with emotion.

No charges have been filed against the daycare manager.
