At No. 10 rue Nicolas-Appert, the editorial staff of the satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo was decimated on January 7, 2015 during an Islamist attack. A year later, the street artist “C215”, whose real name was Christian Guémy, painted several frescoes in the same street in tribute to the victims of this barbarity. There you could see the portraits of the eight journalists and cartoonists killed that day. One of them, painted in 2017, featured the faces of Luz and Patrice Pelloux.

According to our information, the fresco was vandalized on the night of June 13 to 14, after several far-left groups were involved in wild demonstrations at the 11e district of Paris. “ The tag was immediately cleaned after its discovery », assures an internal source at Paris town hall. A police source confirms: “ The graffiti was written in black ink and measured approximately 1 meter wide and 50 to 60 cm high “. The inscription read “Plante un FAF”, the diminutive FAF meaning “fascist”.

As the area was not covered by video surveillance cameras, no suspect could be identified. No complaints have been filed at this time.
